Sree Shivaji Sphoorty Kendram

Srisailam

The Shivaji Spoorthy Kendra stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his vision for a prosperous and enlightened society. Established with the aim of preserving and promoting the ideals of Shivaji Maharaj, our Kendra serves as a center for inspiration, research, and community service.

Historical Significance

The foundation of the Spoorthy Kendra was laid in 1983 by the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Late Sri Vasant Rao Patil, who generously contributed an initial donation of Rs. 2,50,000. This was followed by the laying of the cornerstone for the second phase by Late Sri N.T. Rama Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, in 1986. The bronze statue of Shivaji Maharaj was unveiled in 1994 by Prof. Rajender Simhaji, the then Sar Sanghachalak of the RSS.
The inspiration for the Kendra came during the tri-centenary celebrations of Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation in 1974. Observing the dilapidated state of the site where Shivaji Maharaj once meditated, Sri Meero Panth Pingle and Vadlamudi Rama Mohan Rao envisioned creating a memorial that would honor his legacy. Their vision led to the formation of the Sri Shivaji Memorial Committee in 1975 and the eventual establishment of the Spoorthy Kendra.
